In May 2013, Khaled was forced to join the compulsory army service, where he spent two whole months, after which he decided to leave the army and flee to Lebanon.

The “Hand and Foot” collection includes drawings that Khaled made during the long guard duty hours of his military services. This represents the first time Khaled dealt with drawing as a means of expression rather than sculpture, using ink on paper. It is a collection of drawings with variations of one form, one person with one only one hand and one foot.
